There are plenty of overnight courses that range from two days to a week. The highlight of the Marine Cadets year is summer camp, a week long experience with a variety of courses to partake in. On a cadets first summer camp, they will partake in foundation troop, an incredible experience that will create memories and friendships that cadets will never forget. From packing your Bergen and fitting your webbing to ration packs, camouflage and concealment and sleeping in the field with a shelter you and a partner of your choice created with nothing but a roll mat, a bivvie sheet and bungee ropes.
Weapons handling courses take place on weekends, and show cadets how to clean, fire, reloads, dismantle and put back together different types of rifles. They are taught how to treat them respectfully and never mess around with them.
